The Model XS-P2P-001 from ZigSense div. of Conlab Pty Ltd., Doncaster East, Australia, is a wireless cable replacer device that is designed to transfer wired I/O data between two remote locations using license-free radio frequencies. Operating over 2.4 GHz, data rate is 256 Kbps, transmit power is 18 dBm, and receive sensitivity is –102 dBm. At 900 MHz the data rate is 156 Kbps with 17 dBm transmit power and –100 dBm receive sensitivity. The peer-to-peer wireless nodes offer full-duplex data transfer and allow you to transfer analog signals (e.g., tank level, temperature, pressure, and flow) and digital signals (e.g., pump or motor start/stop and alarm conditions) to a remote PLC or between two PLC I/O modules.
