The 09222/000 piezo composite transducer from Morgan Technical Ceramics, Stourport, U.K., offers wideband dual-frequency operation through the same slot for marine applications such as depth sounding, fish finding, guidance, or Doppler speed metering. The device has dual 55—89 kHz and 150—220 kHz ranges with a side-lobe level of <–25 dB. The piezo composite technology extends bandwidth, suppresses side lobes, improves beam uniformity, and increases figure of merit operation. The wide bandwidth lets you use more advanced imaging algorithms, such as Chirp or SAFT.
