The ADIS16227 triaxial vibration analyzer with programmable processing from Analog Devices Inc., Norwood, MA, can act as a fully integrated vibration analysis system capable of autonomous operation. The device combines a MEMS sensor, data conversion, and sensor processing technologies with data capture and an SPI interface in a 15 mm cube. Features include embedded frequency-domain processing, 512-point real-value FFT, and onboard data storage; configurable spectral alarm bands and windowing options; a configurable dynamic input range with 0–1 g, 0–5 g, 0–20 g, or 0–70 g ranges; configurable sampling rate up to 100 kHz with averaging/decimation options; and a resonance frequency of 22 kHz. Applications include vibration monitoring for wind turbines and precision factory automation and assembly equipment.
