The 7600B Series DC-response accelerometers from Dytran Instruments Inc., Chatsworth, CA, are designed to directly replace piezoresistive units in new or existing applications. The variable capacitance devices have an advanced ASIC to simulate the operation of a piezoresisitve bridge and combine an integrated variable capacitive accelerometer chip with high-drive, low-impedance buffering for measuring acceleration in aerospace, automotive, commercial, and industrial environments. Accelerometers respond to DC and AC acceleration, are suited to use in zero to medium-frequency instrumentation applications, and are available in ±5 g, ±10 g, ±25 g, ±50 g, ±100 g, and ±200 g sensing ranges.
