U-GAGE M25U sensors from Banner Engineering Corp., Minneapolis, MN, are opposed-mode ultrasonic sensor pairs designed for use in sanitary environments. The sensors are rated IP69K and IP67 and are constructed of heavy-duty 316 SS to withstand recurring high-pressure washdowns, severe temperatures, and aggressive cleaning chemicals common in food and beverage applications. Operating temperature range is –20°C to 70°C. The sensors can withstand sprays up to 80°C and 1500 psi occurring every few hours. The devices can be wired for either normal or high-speed operation. Normal speed offers a longer sensing range but high-speed provides a shorter response time.
