The Ultraprobe 15,000 Touch from UE Systems Inc., Elmsford, NY, is a handheld ultrasonic condition monitoring device that lets plant inspection professions use an iPhone-like touchscreen to analyze conditions. The device provides a spectral analyzer, an IR thermometer, and an onboard camera and provides the ability to select from multiple data screens; pinpoint locations with a laser pointer; store data, sounds, and images; generate reports; review historical record data; plan/review routes; review alarm groups; and adjust emissivity. The system can be used to report and diagnose premature problems or act as an energy conservation tool.
