Knowles Acoustics, Itasca, IL, offers the ultrasonic acoustic sensor (UAS) to detect/receive ultrasonic sound in air. The MEMS-based device has a wide frequency range, applicable to applications such as ultrasonic range detection, condition monitoring, fault detection, level sensing, and position sensing. The sensor detects frequencies from 10 kHz to 65 kHz with minimal attenuation and can detect multiple frequencies within a single sensing element.
