The CHR70M from CMOSIS NV, Antwerp, Belgium, is an industrial image sensor with a 10,000 by 7096 pixel image area and a frame rate of 3 fps at full resolution. The sensor uses active pinned photodiode pixels with a 3.1 µm by 3.1 µm pixel pitch in a 2-pixel sharing pattern. Image data are transferred through 8 analog outputs, each running at the full 30 MHz master clock rate. Higher frame rates can be achieved by using windowing or sub-sampling modes. Other features include moving-window functionality, an SPI interface, external triggering and exposure programming, a PGA, offset regulation, and on-chip timing generation. Applications include flat-panel and PCB inspection, document scanning, and high-resolution aerial photography.
