PCB Piezotronics Inc., Force/Torque Div., Depew, NY, offers the 261A Series of triaxial force link sensors that simultaneously measure dynamic and quasi-static forces in 3 orthogonal directions. The sensors come preloaded between 2 plates, with a 4-screw mounting pattern. F.S. measuring ranges are from 500–4000 lb. in the X and Y directions and from 1000–10,000 lb. in the Z direction; single-axis models are also available. Designed for use during vibration testing of aerospace structures, the sensors match the mechanical impedance of shaker inputs and can be used to force-limit the shaker controller to prevent damage to expensive structures.
