Tilt-Compensated Digital Compass from PNI Sensor

The TCM6 from PNI Sensor Corp., Santa Rosa, CA, combines magneto-inductive sensors, a triaxial accelerometer, and algorithms in a temperature- and noise-stabilized design to provide 3-axis orientation performance. The device features a high SNR, is immune to background electrical noise, and is free of offset drift. The compass has 4 distinct calibration modes to compensate for magnetic distortions: full-range, limited tilt range, 2D, and hard iron only. In addition, the compass has an intelligent calibration score that tells you of the relative merit of your field calibration and how to improve it.
