The single-channel telemetry system from PCB Load & Torque Inc., Farmington Hills, MI, is designed as modular units and provides a method of conditioning and transmitting strain, thermocouple, voltage, or ICP signals from a rotating shaft. The system consists of rotor electronics, a stator, and the receiver unit. The rotor electronics—a signal conditioner and transmitter in a 4 g, USB-memory-stick-sized package—are available in strain-gauge-, voltage-, K-Type thermocouple, and ICP input versions and mount on the shaft. The stator is the receiving head and transfers the signal to the control unit as well as inducing the power over an air gap to the rotor electronics. The control unit displays the sensor values and provides a frequency and voltage output.
