Tactical-Grade Gyroscopes from Analog Devices

Analog Devices Inc., Norwood, MA, offers the ADIS16135 MEMS gyro and ADIS16385 six-degrees-of-freedom inertial measurement unit (IMU), both of which have tactical grade (<10°/hr.) gyro performance. The ADIS16135 single-axis digital gyro has ±300°/s measurement, 0.0122°/s/√hr. noise, 335 Hz bandwidth, linear acceleration sensitivity of 0.03°/s/g, and operates from a single 4.85–5.15 V supply. The ADIS16385 IMU includes a ±300°/s triaxial gyro and a ±5 g triaxial accelerometer and offers 6°/hr. performance on the Z-axis gyro with inertial-grade performance on the X and Y axes. Applications include camera stability, antenna alignment, and GPS navigation in ships, aircraft, fleet vehicles, agricultural machinery, and factory robotics.
