Kistler Instrument Corp., Amherst, NY, offers the Type 9238 strain sensor that combines a digital charge amplifier in a compact sensor housing. The sensor's integral electronics allow you to program sensor sensitivity via ManuWare software that matches the company's sensors with its signal conditioner or process monitors. This ability lets you use the sensor in several ranges. The piezoelectric element has high sensitivity, high overload protection, and a long service life. The transmitter measures force indirectly through proportional material strain.
