Shock Accelerometers from PCB Piezotronics

The Series 3501, 3503, and 3991 miniature, piezoresistive, high-amplitude shock accelerometers from PCB Piezotronics Inc., Depew, NY, can measure long-duration transient motion and respond to, and survive, the fast rise times typical of a high-G shock event. Sensors are available in 20,000 g and 60,000 g measurement ranges. The stud-mount Series 3501 and screw-mount Series 3991 and 3503 sensors feature light damping and mechanical stops and offer survivability to a high overrange, min. zero-shift after a shock, and higher bridge resistance with lower power consumption than legacy sensors. Applications include electronics drop testing, pile drivers, downhole mineral exploration, shot counting for firearms, sports equipment testing, and pyro-shock events.
