Seat Sensors from Sensata Technologies

Sensata Technologies Inc.
July 11, 2007

Sensata Technologies, Attleboro, MA, offers its seat sensors for automotive occupant detection. The piezoelectric sensor, a wire which is incorporated into a pad that mounts under the seat cushion, senses the frequency response of a human and determines the relative position of the passenger. The MSG occupant weight sensor uses a silicon MEMS strain gauge element bonded to a SS diaphragm. Four MSGs are mounted within the seat structure to measure occupant weight for safe airbag deployment and compliance to FMVSS208.
