The QE65 from Ocean Optics Inc., Dunedin, FL, is a scientific-grade modular spectrometer that offers enhanced sensitivity and low stray light capabilities for fluorescence, Raman, and DNA sequencing spectroscopy. The new optical bench components more efficiently manipulate light for greater throughput and higher sensitivity. A thermally robust design improves spectrometer stability over a wide temperature range and ultralow jitter triggering synchronizes timing with other devices. New gratings optimize the wavelength range and stray light performance characteristics. The Hamamatsu FFT-CCD back-thinned detector offers 90% max. quantum efficiency.
