The Surtronic R-Series roundness and form testers from Taylor Hobson Precision, a unit of AMETEK Inc., West Chicago, IL, are designed for measuring high-volume bearing parts, including raceway, ball, needle, and roller bearings. They use an orientation mechanism that lets you position a part for measurement in as little as 20 s and the centering attachment lets you measure a series of similar parts without needing to re-center. You can take full ISO-compliant measurements with ±25 nm accuracy and 6 nm gauge resolution. Other applications include QC in automotive, aerospace, optics, and process control for grinding, turning, milling, and honing.
