The RPIC1.2 from e2v technologies plc, Chelmsford, U.K., is a high-resolution, low-noise, low-drift, and high-stability resistive sensor interface platform IC. The device can be used for high-resolution measurement of resistive sensing elements, such as platinum temperature sensors, MEMS resistive sensors, strain gauges, piezoresistive sensors, and magnetoresistive sensors for pressure, altitude, humidity, strain, angle, liquid level, or gas concentration. Features include 2 channels of autozero preamplifier with offset drift better than 1 µV/°C, 16-bit ΣΔ ADC with 8 kHz output data rate, 6 µV noise level at 4 kHz bandwidth, digital UART output for both channel or one channel can be output using a 14-bit DAC, embedded EEPROM, I2C interface, and an operating temperature range from –40°C to 150°C.
