Remote Isolated Field I/O Card from Mesa

The 7I66 from Mesa Electronics, Richmond, CA, is a remote isolated field I/O card designed for fast real-time PC-based control systems. The card communicates with the host via RS-422 and is supported by the company's FPGA cards that provide a simple parallel register interface to the host, with all protocol details handled by the smart interface. The card is available in two models, the 7I66-24 with 24 outputs and no inputs and the 7I66-8 with 8 outputs and 16 inputs. Outputs are 2.5 A sourcing drivers with 8–32 VDC power and local clamps for inductive loads. Applications include high-performance industrial automation and machine tools.
