Fieldpiece Instruments Inc., Brea, CA, offers the SRL2 IR refrigerant leak detector for HVAC field technicians. The device doesn't trigger on oil and moisture and its replaceable water-blocking filter keeps moisture and contaminants from reaching the sensor. The self-calibrating instrument offers visual and audible alarms when CFC, HFC, or HCFC-blend refrigerant leaks are detected; sensitivity is 0.1 oz./yr. Other features include 3 sensitivity levels; a peak reading indicator with manual reset; a nonconductive, poseable sensor arm; and a magnetic hanger.
