Rechargeable Li-Ion Cells Live Long In Extreme Environs
December 18, 2013
Tadiran’s TLI Series rechargeable lithium-ion (li-ion) batteries address the drawbacks of standard li-ion cells such as a short life of five years, low maximum 1,000-cycle life, annual self-discharge up to 60% per year, and a limited temperature range of 0ºC to +60ºC. TLI Series batteries employ the company’s patented hybrid layer capacitor (HLC) technology that enables a 25+ year service life. The also batteries modify this technology to perform reliably under extreme environmental conditions. Features include an operating temperature from -40ºC to +85ºC with storage up to +90ºC, the ability to deliver high current pulses up to 5A for AA cells, an annual self-discharge rate of less than 5%, up to 5,000 life cycles, and glass-to-metal seals.
