S. Himmelstein and Co., Hoffman Estates, IL, offers the RTM 2208 and 2209 square-drive reaction torque transducers that can be used while the device under test may be rotating, such as calibrating torque wrenches used in makeup and breakout of drill strings in oilfield applications. The sensors can verify the amount of rotational torque applied by heavy power tools and are supplied in capacities from 300,000 to 3,000,000 lbf.-in. Features include a compact mechanical package, high torsional stiffness, very high overload and high extraneous load capacity, and calibration clockwise and counterclockwise to rated load in the company's NVLAP-accredited laboratory.
