Automation Systems Interconnect (ASI) Inc., Carlisle, PA, offers the AF Series of programmable fiber-optic sensors for detecting small parts, sensing marks and contrasts on packages, and for presence control on automated equipment. The sensors offer sensitivity adjustment, a keyboard so adjustments can't be changed once set, programmable output, a 10–200 mm sensing distance, and NPN/PNP operation. Connection is via a standard sensor cable with an M8 connector.
