The Model DK10 from PKP Process Instruments, Hudson, MA, is a flap-type flowmeter with local indication for flow measurement of most process fluids. The device uses a spring-loaded flap mounted in a hemispherical chamber; the flow deflects the flap and this deflection is proportional to the flow rate. Movement of the flap is transmitted to a mechanical pointer and flow displayed on a scale. Available outputs include 1 or 2 alarm levels or 4–20 mA. Each flowmeter is calibrated for the liquid being monitored based on customer specifications. Available wetted materials include aluminum, bronze, cast iron, SS, PTFE, and PVC.
