The O500 Series photoelectric sensors from Baumer Ltd., Southington, CT, let you initiate a teach procedure by touching the housing. The qTeach feature has no mechanical buttons or moving parts and is offered on three models of the O500 Series: diffuse sensors with background suppression, SmartReflect reflector-free light barriers, and retroreflective sensors. You start the teach-in process by lightly touching the housing with a ferromagnetic tool then you align the desired sensing condition and touch the housing a second time to teach.
