IFM Efector Inc., Exton, PA, offers optical fork and angle sensors with a transmitter and receiver in one housing. Fork housings are available with slot widths from 10–120 mm and angle sensor widths are 60 or 100 mm. The robust metal housings resist distortion and a visible red light beam across the slot width assists in setup. Features include adjustable sensitivity, selectable light-on/dark-on modes, and integrated throughholes for mounting. Applications include part detection on conveyors, rails, and belts; detection of object edges and protruding features; gear teeth detection and counting; and component position verification and orientation.
