The Model 01251 IRT digital IR torque sensor from Sensor Developments Inc., Lake Orion, MI, transmits the measured torque in dynamometer systems without the use of slip rings or rotary transformer systems. Sensors have high frequency response, high sample rates, high rotational speeds, and capacities from 1000 in.-lbs. to 250,000 in.-lbs. Torque measurement signals can be configured as frequency, analog, or 4–20 mA current loop outputs. Signal filter response and output level signals are adjustable and a GUI lets you set sensor parameters. The sensor can be supplied in multiple attachment configurations, expandable to measure both torque and thrust simultaneously, and can also include onboard temperature inputs.
