Next-Generation Mote Platform from MEMSIC

The LOTUS high-performance wireless sensor platform from MEMSIC Inc., Andover, MA, is developed around the ARM7 Cortex M3 CPU, has a modular and stackable design, and is designed for applications that require higher-speed processing and GSM/GPRS gateways. The platform features a 32-bit 100 MHz processor, 64 KB SRAM, 512 KB SRAM, 64 MB serial flash memory, an integrated 802.15.4-compliant radio with onboard antenna, USB client with onboard mini-B connector, and power consumption of 50 mA (on-state) and 10 µA (stand-by mode). LOTUS is factory configured to run RTOS. Its 51-pin expansion connector supports analog inputs, digital I/O, I2C, SPI, and UART interfaces. LOTUS can also run MEMSIC Kiel, RTOS, IAR Systems, Free RTOS, MoteRunner, and TinyOS.
