The Tofino Event Logger Loadable Security Module (LSM) from Byres Security Inc., Lantzville, BC, Canada, is designed to work with the company's Tofino Industrial Security Solution and to record network security events and alarms, even when communication links are interrupted. The module can forward security event and alarm data to a central IT syslog server; if communications are interrupted or the syslog server is shut down, messages are stored locally for forwarding later when the connection is repaired or can be offloaded to a USB storage device. Local storage can record up to 20,000 events. The Tofino Central Management Platform server automatically backs up all records. Applications include process control networks, control and automation networks, and isolated SCADA systems.
