The GEDC-6 gyro-enhanced navigation sensor and PHOD-1 hydrophone from Sparton Corp., Deleon Springs, FL, are designed for the navigation and exploration industry. The GEDC-6 gyro-enhanced digital compass (3-axis magnetic, 3-axis acceleration, and 3-axis gyro sensors) has adaptive infield calibration to compensate for errors due to soft and hard iron disturbances in the vehicle's mounting platform. It features 1.0° rms dynamic heading accuracy and 0.3° rms static heading accuracy, true north heading indication based on magnetic variation correction, 360° rollover capability, motion stabilization, rapid initialization, and full encapsulation. The PHOD-1 is a ruggedized preamplified hydrophone with a 10 Hz to 50 kHz usable frequency range, operating depth tested to 300 m, and 10 mA current draw.
