Multinetwork Support from Ember

Ember Corp.
July 9, 2012

Ember Corp., Cambridge, MA, has added multinetwork support for ZigBee PRO networks to single SoCs or network coprocessors (NCP) for Connected Home applications. The capability lets a single SoC or NCP device operate on multiple ZigBee PRO networks or personal area networks (PANs), allowing devices such as home gateways, appliances, displays, and thermostats to operate concurrently on multiple ZigBee PRO networks that support the ZigBee Smart Energy and Home Automation applications. The multinetwork support will be initially offered with utility-owned smart metering Home Area Networks and Ember has tested the feature with the support of customer LG Electronics. The multinetwork functionality will also be built into the company's AppBuilder tool.
