Monochrome High-Dynamic-Range Camera from JAI

The monochrome AD-131GE from JAI Inc., San Jose, CA, combines different exposures from its dual ICX447 CCDs in real time to generate high-dynamic-range (HDR) images with a total resolution of 1.3 Megapixels (1296 by 966). Images are output via a standard GigE Vision interface. For HDR capability, the camera provides an identical field of view to each CCD. Each CCD's shutter speed and/or gain can be calibrated independently such that one imager captures details in the brighter areas of the scene while the second captures the same image, but capturing details in the darker areas. Images can be processed in-camera or sent to a host computer. Other operating modes let you use the camera for non-HDR imaging. Applications include inspection tasks, microscopy, and high-end surveillance or traffic.
