The PMP943 from FUTEK Advanced Sensor Technology Inc., Irvine, CA, is an ultraminiature pressure sensor made of titanium that has a USB output. Input pressure range is 73 psi up to 5800 psi. The sensor withstands vibrations up to 50 g at 20–2000 Hz, weighs <10 g, and provides a 0.5–4.5 VDC output. Bandwidth is up to 5 kHz and operating temperature range is –40°C to 140°C. The thin-film sensor is suited for use in corrosive fluid environments and is recommended for applications involving rough handling or where a completely hermetically sealed transducer is required.
