The 3DM-GX3-25 miniature attitude heading reference system (AHRS) from MicroStrain Inc., Williston, VT, combines 3 triaxial accelerometers, 3 MEMS gyroscopes, and 3 magnetometers with 3 temperature sensors and an onboard microprocessor to provide static and dynamic orientation and inertial measurements. Oversampling the sensors at 30 kHz, digitally filtering, and performing coning and sculling integrals at 1 kHz, the device outputs deltaAngle and deltaVelocity. Features include user-adjustable output rates up to 1 kHz, individual calibration to compensate for gyro-G-sensitivity and sensor misalignment, and full temperature compensation for the sensors. Units are available with USB 2.0, RS-232, and TTL interfaces.
