Mini IR Receivers Get A Facelift
December 12, 2013
Vishay Intertechnology upgrades the TSOP36 series miniature, surface-mount IR receivers for infrared (IR) remote-control apps in consumer products. With a minimum irradiance of 0.12 mW/m², the devices now offer a 20 % improvement in sensitivity over previous generations and incorporate an improved optical filter against IR 3D TV signals and other noise. They are available in five automatic gain control (AGC) versions for short and long burst codes. The TSOP361 and TSOP362 provide legacy compatibility with all common IR remote control data formats while the TSOP363 and TSOP364 suppress spurious pulses from energy-saving lamps and dimmed LCD backlighting. And the TSOP365 suppresses extreme levels of optical noise. Other features include an operating voltage range from 2.5V to 5.5V, transmission range up to 45m, carrier frequencies from 30 kHz to 56 kHz, and a 0.35-mA supply current at 3.3V. Pricing is $1 per piece.
