Mini Foil Strain Gauges from Vishay Precision Group

Vishay Precision Group (VPG) Inc., Malvern, PA, offers a new series of Micro-Measurements high-resistance miniature foil strain gauges available in linear, half-bridge, full-bridge, and shear patterns. The strain gauges use a modified-Karma alloy with gold- or copper-coated solder tabs and an epoxy overcoat for grid encapsulation. Advanced manufacturing provides a 10,000 ohm resistance available in a 1 mm2 grid area, which helps to increase transducer output in applications such as pressure sensing. Tolerance of ±0.2% is typical on resistance values from 1000 ohm to 20,000 ohm. Self-temperature-compensation is standard and modulus compensation is available. Creep compensation is offered on all miniature strain gauge patterns.
