VIP Sensors, San Juan Capistrano, CA, offers the Model 1500 MEMS accelerometer designed to measure short-duration shocks as well as long-duration transients. The undamped design and DC to 20 kHz frequency response allow measurements of shock signals with excellent fidelity, without spurious effects such as zero shifts, amplitude distortion, and phase distortion suffered by AC or damped DC accelerometers. The sensor weighs 1 g, meets SAEJ211 specifications, and is suited for use in automotive crash testing, flutter testing, and vehicle road testing as well as testing lightweight structures and systems.
