KXTI9 and KXTJ9 MEMS accelerometers from Kionix Inc., Ithaca, NY, are optimized for mobile handsets and tablets. The fast-mode I2 triaxial KXTI9 combines a FIFO buffer with an improved embedded algorithm engine, letting you develop new applications with minimal impact on system resources. It features user-programmable 8- or 12-bit resolution; ±2 g, ±4 g, or ±8 g ranges; consumes 325 µA in 12-bit mode and 100 µA in 8-bit operation; and has 12.5–800 Hz output data rates with programmable high- and low-pass filters. The pin-compatible, digital-direct output triaxial KXTJ9 consumes 250 µA in 12-bit mode and 10 µA in 8-bit mode, features 175 µg/rt.Hz noise density, and omits the algorithm engine and buffer.
