The FEMTO LCA-2-10T, distributed in the U.S. by Electro Optical Components Inc., Santa Rosa, CA, is an ultra-low-noise current (transimpedance) amplifier for very sensitive current and charge measurements. Features include a switchable high gain of 1012 and 1013 V/A, noise current of 0.18 fA/√Hz, and signal filters and an offset control. The amplifier is supplied in a miniaturized and rugged aluminum housing designed to optimize EMI shielding and is suited for amplifying small currents close to DC generated by high-impedance sources such as photodiodes, PMTs, ionization, and particle detectors. Applications include spectroscopy, characterizing active electronic components and preamplification for oscilloscopes, ADCs, and digital voltmeters.
