MTS Systems Corp., Sensors Div., Cary, NC, has added an R-Series linear position sensor with EtherNet/IP output to its R-Series line. The noncontact, magnetostrictive R-Series EtherNet/IP sensors are offered in a variety of mechanical styles with measurement ranges from 25 mm to 20,000 mm and resolution as low as 1 µm. Position and velocity measurements can be provided for multiple locations on the sensor. Features include the ability to store preset configurations for a variety of product shapes and sizes, reducing startup and changeover times; advanced diagnostics; and field programmability.
