The LR Series level sensor from ifm efector inc., Exton, PA, monitors liquid level in tanks for applications such as parts cleaning, coolant monitoring, water treatment, and hydraulic power units. The modular system consists of a compact, SS sensor housing with numeric display and pushbutton setup, a cut-to-length SS measuring probe that attaches to the housing, and an M12 cordset for power and outputs. Measuring probe lengths up to 63 in. are available. The sensor uses echo time-of-flight via guided wave radar to measure level and can detect a variety of liquids, including water and water-based media. For oil and low-dielectric fluid applications, a coaxial tube is available that slips over the measuring probe to provide reliable level sensing.
