Cypress Semiconductor Corp., San Jose, CA, offers the CYONS1001G laser navigation sensor for use in high-performance gaming, precision graphic design, and high-accuracy position detection for wired and wireless computer mice. The sensor integrates the detector and laser in a 8 by 8 mm QFN package with a snap-on lens design. Features include built-in laser eye safety management, signal processing load independent of mouse speed, 2800 counts/in. resolution, and position sampling as fast as 40 kHz.
