The MPU-9150 from InvenSense Inc., Sunnyvale, CA, is a fully integrated 9-axis motion tracking device for mobile devices such as smartphones, tablets, game controllers, and wearable sensors. The 4 by 4 by 1 mm device couples the company's MPU-6050 single-chip gyroscope and accelerometer with Asahi Kasei Microdevices' AK8975 compass and integrates AKM's compass calibration algorithms into InvenSense's MotionApps software platform with 9-axis MotionFusion firmware. The firmware combines raw sensor output into a single sensor fusion data stream to let developers more easily adopt motion interface functionality in their software.
