The LMP8358 from National Semiconductor Corp., Santa Clara, CA, is a zero-drift, programmable instrumentation amplifier with onchip diagnostics. Noise spectrum is 27 nV/√Hz. Features include EMI suppression filters, programmable frequency compensation for programmable bandwidths, an offset compensation circuit that does not introduce distortion or aliasing for signals <12 kHz, and glitch-free transitions between gain settings that are programmable to 10, 20, 50, 100, 200, 500, or 1000 through an SPI. Temperature range is –40°C to 125°C, max. offset voltage is 10 µV, max. offset voltage drift is 50 nV/°C, gain bandwidth is 8 MHz, and current draw is <1 µA.
