The iSensor ADIS16365 from Analog Devices Inc., Norwood, MA, combines 3 gyros and 3 accelerometers in a 23 by 23 by 23 mm package and provides 6 DOF inertial measurement. Features include a 20% reduction in power consumption, 17 g dynamic range, additional system I/O, 0.05°/s/g dynamic linear compensation scaling, in-run bias stability of 0.009°/s or better, automatic sensor point-of-reference realignment, digital range scaling, dynamic environmental compensation, autonomous self test, embedded sensor condition monitoring, a programmable SPI interface, and footprint compatibility with earlier generations. Applications include industrial vehicle navigation systems and platform stability.
