The EKI-6311G from Advantech Corp., Industrial Automation Group, Cincinnati, OH, is an 802.11 b/g wireless access point, client bridge, and repeater that offers standards-based and license-free wireless connectivity for industrial devices, equipment, and applications. As an access point, the device lets wireless devices communicate with each other and with 10/100Base-TX wired Ethernet networks; as a client bridge it connects one or more wired devices to a wireless network; and as a wireless repeater it extends wireless coverage areas. Features include an IP65-rated enclosure, support for WPA2 and 802.1x remote authentication, and SNMP.
