Image Stabilization System from Energen
Energen Inc.
June 15, 2007

Energen Inc., Lowell, MA, offers a fully automatic image stabilization system for telescopes and any other type of mobile-, ground-, air-, or space-based observation platform. The system combines a gyro to measure vibration, a lens assembly with a CCD, a digital signal processor, and resident software. It senses vibration and then counteracts its effect via software-controlled optical elements so the CCD effectively sees a high-resolution image. Capable of handling vibrations up to 100 Hz, the system can achieve image stability to 35 μrad, depending on the application.
