The Type 8781A50 from Kistler North America, Novi, MI, is a PiezoStar (IEPE-type) triaxial piezoelectric accelerometer that is designed to provide vibration measurements in support of aerospace and automotive NVH and other testing environments characterized by rapid temperature fluctuations. Measurement range is 50 g, sensitivity is 100 mV/g, and operating temperature range is –54°C to 120°C. The 13 g sensor incorporates a PiezoStar crystal shear sensing element and high-gain integral microelectronics to achieve a broad frequency response, low sensitivity variation over the operating temperature range, and high immunity to base strain errors. Models with an optional T suffix incorporate TEDS capabilities.
