The EE245 from E+E Elektronik Corp., Canton, MA, is a wireless transmitter that measures temperature, humidity, and carbon dioxide levels for use in offices, museums, and living spaces. Wireless communication is based on IEEE 802.15.4 with a 2.4 GHz transmission frequency. Typical radio ranges are 100 m indoors and 1000 m in the open field. The wireless devices can form a self-configuring, scalable, and self-healing mesh network. For bus integration, Modbus is supported and communication is implemented via Ethernet or RS-485 interface. Bus connection is supported by using the EE242 base station.
