The Model HT426E01 from PCB Piezotronics Inc., Automotive Sensors Div., Depew, NY, is a high-temperature preamplifier designed to overcome the high-temperature testing challenges associated with collecting acoustic data for NVH powertrain and vehicle underhood testing applications. The 1/2 in. preamplifier operates from ICP sensor power, terminating with a BNC connector and using standard coaxial cables. Attenuation factor is –0.06 dB and 4.9 µV noise based on an A-weight scale. Applications include underhood measurements for benchmarking and issue identification, near-field measurements on manifolds, mufflers, exhaust after treatment components, and tailpipe noise.
